Wood Fencing Options:

Basic Dog Ear - This type of fence is constructed on 4 x 4 treated posts, spaced approximately 7'6" apart, set 20" to 24" in concrete. All fences are string graded and cut, then framed with three 2 x 4 runners.

Posts: Properly pressure-treated to .40 lbs. per cubic foot of wood preservative retention. All treated lumber in Arkansas is required by law to have the treaters stamp affixed to the product. We use 4x4 post never landscape timbers.

Back Rails: Three treated back rails per section top, middle, and bottom.

Pickets: Premium quality face board.

Fasteners: Galvanized 16-penny nails for back rails. Galvanized 2 staples for face boards.

Materials: We use treated pine, treated pine: water-based, will shrink approx. 3/8 to 7/16, life expectancy is 30 years.

Cap and Trim can be added to a Basic Dog Ear fence to boost its curb appeal. A 2 x 4 x 16 is placed at the top of the fence and a 1 x 4 x 16 is added to cover the dog ear.

Box Post can also be added to the fence. This feature is a 1 x 8 x 8 boxed around a 4 x 4 post. The top is capped with a three tier 2 x 12 bottom, 2 x 10 middle and a 2 x 8 top with a 1 x 2 trim.

Drive around your neighborhood and there is a good chance you'll see a wood fence adorning a back yard, garden or entire property line. For years, homeowners have turned to wood fencing as an affordable and attractive way to make a good first impression and provide safety and security. At Ingle Fence Company, we can install all kinds of wood fences - ranging from vertical board, spaced board and shadow box style to board and batten and estate designs. It's really a matter of your taste and preference. We use the best quality materials and work with top-notch mills to insure your satisfaction.

Our gates can be built to match the design of the fence or customized to an arch or scallop top. We can also mix a wrought iron gate into a wood fence with, for example, a couple of 8 x 8 box posts to offset your gate. Click Here to see our portfolio for this option.

We also install our gates with a 2 x 4 cedar framework to cut down on warping. We install 20"hinges that are bolted on and not lag screwed. We give our customers the option to use steel posts as an upgrade to 4 x 4 posts, which insures no gate warping.

Cedar is one example of a natural wood product used in our projects. One of the most important things to remember about wood fencing is life expectancy. Ingle Fence Company does not believe in or endorse cutting corners in any of our work, so we encourage customers to do things like apply wood preservative or protectorate as a means of extending your fence's lifespan. Exposure to the elements - sun exposure, insects, climate and the type of wood chosen - all play a role, along with the water table. Ingle Fence Company has experienced, skilled fence consultants at the ready to assist you with the selection process. Once that has been handled, our team of skilled workmen will complete the project with minimal interruption to your busy life and schedule, then depart after cleaning up your landscape in an orderly fashion.

We recommend that you apply a protective finish once the fence has been installed to help reduce the impact of weathering and boost the fence's life expectancy. In addition, Ingle Fence Company recommends that you apply stain or paint every two years or as needed. The picture below shows naturally weathered wood vs. a stained fence.

Decorative wood fencing can make all the difference in how your home or business is seen by passersby. For example, you could have the traditional American picket fence to create a feel of comfort, friendliness and to give a little kick to your property's curb appeal. There are also board fences, perfect for establishing an aesthetic border that also keeps your home or business the focal point. We also offer split rail fencing and other options. Ingle Fence Company is about making your dreams a reality.
